Ahhh, the global economic crisis – what better time to launch a 1100bhp supercar? Here at PistonHeads we are glad that small issues like financial meltdown haven’t stopped cars like the Zenvo ST1 soldiering on.
It’s an odd-looking beast this one – with shades of the Edonis about it – but overall it’s a pretty well sorted design. Danish firm Zenvo Automotive are not holding back in the hardware department either, fitting the car with a 7.0-litre V8 engine that has been both supercharged and turbocharged.
The power goes through the rear wheels only and this may be why the car is a little off the Bugatti Veyron’s 0-60mph time, posting 3.2 seconds. The ST1 will hit 120mph in just under nine seconds and the top speed is reported to be limited to ‘just’ 233mph.
Transmission is a 6-speed manual ‘box with a hydraulic limited slip differential. Torque is said to be a continental plate-shifting 1054lb ft at 4,500rpm, so let’s hope that gearbox is made of strong stuff.
Good though these images are we reckon they are Photoshop jobs (although we may be wrong), which means the company better get its skates on if it is going to start producing the cars next year as promised…
