Speed gets new 20" alloys
Bentley has unveiled its new 200mph GTC Speed, the company’s most powerful convertible ever. The whole GTC range has been updated and is now headed by the 600bhp Speed model which develops 9% more power than the standard GTC and has a 15% increase in torque to 553lb ft.
While the car can hit the double-ton with the roof up Bentley said it will hit just 195mph when it goes topless. The Continental GTC Speed is distinguished by a dark tinted radiator and lower air intake grilles at the front.
There are also larger diameter 9.5J x 20-inch, multi-spoke alloy wheels with Bentley-bespoke Pirelli PZero ultra-high performance tyres, lowered and uprated suspension, wider twin-rifled exhaust tail pipes and a new boot-mounted lip spoiler.
Maximum torque from the W12 engine is achieved across virtually the complete rev range, from just 1700 to 5600rpm, and 0-60mph is dispatched in 4.5 seconds, while 0-100mph in achieved 10.6 seconds.
Bentley chairman Dr Franz-Josef Paefgen said: ‘The Continental GTC is an elegant Grand Touring convertible in the Bentley tradition, exciting the emotions with its distinctive blend of performance, luxury, craftsmanship and modernity. The GTC Speed completes the family of Continental Speed models and broadens the appeal of the GTC to customers who demand a more focused, open-top driving experience.’
