If you’ve got a twin turbo Porsche 997 and a spare $50,00 you might want to pick up the phone to US tuner Switzer Performance Innovations.
The Ohio-based outfit has just announced its new Sledgehammer tuning package that will turn your 530bhp ‘bog-standard/hairdressing’ GT2 into the fully-fledged 1,000bhp monster you really want it to be.
The outrageous output –measured at the crank – is generated from extensive ECU tuning, modified exhaust headers, a sports exhaust, uprated intercooler and bigger turbochargers.
According to the company a Sledgehammer 911 will make 850bhp at the wheels, resulting in some pretty astonishing acceleration figures. They claim 0-60mph is knocked-off in 2.5secs, 60-30mph in 5secs and the car will reach a maximum of almost 195mph.
The company philosophy is ‘performance, not excuses’, says founder Tim Switzer. If you don’t believe the claims, you can check out the quarter mile video on Youtube.
