Jaguar has unveiled the new XFR saloon, which is just a few bhp short of the 200mph+ XJ220 supercar. The 510bhp XFR has a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 and can accelerate to 60mph in 4.7 seconds.
The car gains new bumpers and lower front air intakes, sill extensions bonnet louvers and grilles, four tailpipes, a boot-lid spoiler, unique seats and 20-inch alloy wheels.
The XFR has already become the fastest Jag yet after hitting 225.675mph on the Bonneville Salt Flats last Novermber. The modified car, which had 600bhp from a tweaked supercharger, took the record from the XJ220, which hit 225mph with Martin Brundle behind the wheel.
At the Detroit show, where the XFR was launched, Jaguar also revealed a new XKR, with an all-new V8 engine. The XKR also features a 5.0-litre supercharged AJ-V8 Gen III 510bhp, propelling it to 60mph in 4.6 seconds.
Exterior changes for the XK and XKR include a new front end design, new LED rear lights and a new lower rear body valance.
Prices start at £72,400 for the XKR for the coupe and £78,400 for the convertible. The XFR is priced at £59,900 and all the new models will be available in March.
