The Cadillac CTS-V, America’s answer to the BMW M3, is to cost £56,495 when it reaches the UK. The 564bhp supersaloon is the most powerful Cadillac ever and can launch from 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds.
The supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine will push the car on to a top speed of 191mph in manual form, and 175mph in auto. Cadillac has already claimed the unofficial lap record for a production saloon around the Nurburgring with the CTS-V, lapping in 7 mins 59.32 seconds in October last year.
Despite all this the car is more expensive than both the M3 and the Mercedes C63, which should be tough competition.
'The CTS-V represents the extreme extension of Cadillac’s current design language and its performance technology capabilities,’ said Jonathan Nash, director in charge of Cadillac UK. ‘The V-Series developments take the highly accomplished CTS launched last summer and elevate it to a position within the club of the world’s high-performance supersaloons.’
The CTS-V goes on sale in February.
