Ford's factory in Saarlouis, Germany, has begun producing the new Focus RS. The same factory already builds the rest of the Focus range as well as the C-Max and Kuga, and now adds the latest Ford to bear the legendary RS moniker to its lineup.
The highly-anticipated 300bhp mega-hatch will be sold in over 20 countries around Europe. Ford expects the UK, Switzerland and Germany to be the car's biggest markets.
We certainly can't wait to get our hands on an RS - with a sub-six second 0-60 and a top speed limited to 155mph, this should be one awesome machine. All that extra grunt will be hemmed in by a widened track, as well as lowered ride height and better brakes.
There is also a dramatic styling/aerodynamic package incorporating various skirts and spoilers and a large venturi tunnel at the rear that, as those of you who joined us at the PH show will know, definitely looks better in the metal.
The new Focus RS will go on sale in March at £24,995 - but with this sort of Porsche-bothering pace, we've no doubt they will fly off the shelves.
