Audi S5 fans dissatisfied with the measly 350-odd hp produced by their new S5s will be delighted at the latest upgrade from German tuner ABT Sportsline.
ABT’s latest effort to uprate an Audi performance model will be revealed in the metal at next month’s Geneva Show. For now they’ve released a single image and the news that their AS5-R variant of the standard S5 will boast a mighty 510hp. Looking downright aggressive in its white and black liveried bodykit, we think we’re going to like it!
The AS5-R runs on 20ins alloys, and along with the tasty exterior tweaks the driver gets to pick from a wide range of cabin options including a bespoke leather steering wheel, aluminium pedals and ‘carbon’ interior trim accents. Apparently the car also features 380mm brake discs, and the suspension has been lowered as part of the upgraded handling package.
We can’t help thinking that more power is the right way to go for the Audi S5. In contrast, it has been reported that Audi itself intends to ditch the coupe’s V8 in favour of the S5 cabriolet’s blown V6 that makes 333hp.
