Rolls grille is confirmed for new Rolls
The new ‘baby’ Rolls Royce has been partially revealed before a concept version is launched at the Geneva show. The car is known internally as RR4 but the teaser shows that the concept will carry the title EX200.
It is due for launch next year and company insiders have said that the car will look very similar to the version seen in Geneva in a couple of weeks. The car is understood to share much with the BMW 7-Series although the V12 engine will be unique.
It will be smaller than the Phantom, but as you would expect from Rolls the EX200 cannot be described as ‘small’. Its wheelbase will be a hefty 3,295mm, but it will still be 435mm shorter than the Phantom flagship.
The picture shows a smaller but instantly recognisable RR grille, with retractable Spirit of Ecstasy. The lights are LED and will be two sets of rectangular lamps, instead of two large round ones sitting lower down.
The name of the new Rolls is still undecided but the company is even rumoured to be considering the legendary Silver Ghost moniker.
Details are scant but all will be revealed in March…
