The red team’s 2009 F1 debut may have fizzled out with a double retirement at the Australian GP, but at least the Ferrari web site has been thoroughly souped-up for the season ahead.
The glitzy new www.ferrari.com portal is full of fun functionality including a feature that lets you specify the Ferrari of your dreams, then drive it virtually around the Mugello race track to see how your time compares with Michael Schumacher. The racing ace even provides advice on picking the fastest lines through Mugello’s corners if your lap times aren’t quite up to scratch.
The new site also features ‘The Maranello Experience’, allowing visitors to tour the magnificent Ferrari complex. There are 360-degree images and video clips of every building, as well as explanatory text detailing how and where the cars are built. Definitely worth a visit.
The Ferrari online shop has been overhauled too, and apparently now offers an incredible 2000 products emblazoned with the iconic Prancing Horse logo.
However our favourite feature is the virtual pit-wall, part of the upgraded F1 area of the site which will feature a live telemetry feed from the Ferrari cars at every race this season, as well as blogs from the team drivers. As long as the cars are running, of course!
