When Al Melling announced his Wildcat raffle last month we doubt he was expecting such an overwhelming response from the credit crunched British public. But just three weeks after details of the raffle were made public Melling has decided to set up another prize draw, and is considering running two competitions to cope with demand.
You'll need to register via the company website soon if you want to take part, we're told. Meanwhile, the winner of the first raffle has already chosen the specification for his new car.
'Lucky' Jim Eden’s new Wildcat will use the 4.6-litre Ford SVT Cobra V8 engine, currently in use in the new Ford Mustang, but will be an altogether tamer vehicle than the American muscle car.
Apparently Mr Eden wants a car for the odd jaunt to the Lake District, so has opted for a hard-top model with servo assisted brakes, power steering and comfortable seats. The car’s interior will be decked in mahogany, aluminium and black leather, while the outside colour will be candy apple red – Mrs Eden's choice.
Melling hope to deliver Mr Eden’s Wildcat within ten weeks, by which time there may be another two more Wildcat winners on their way to the factory to choose their spec.
