It’s not hard to imagine how sinister this MEC Design S-class might look when it’s bearing down on you on the Autobahn, but that’s about the only benefit we can attribute to this distinctively modified Merc.
It’s not hard to spot the wide wheel arches, new side skirts and rear spoiler from our pics, but you won’t see the clusters of LEDs in the sills until after dark. A blacked-out grille adds to the car's sinister presence, while an option to eliminate the fog and driving lights altogether and replace them with coarse mesh only adds to the car's menace.
MEC boasts their new S produces a ‘pretty amazing’ sound thanks to the quad chome tipped 'Earthquake' exhausts, apparently 'shaped by mandrels'. The reference is to an item of tooling, although it doesn't take a giant leap of imagination to attribute the work to a troupe of similarly named monkeys.
Inside, the MEC S-class gets a new sports steering wheel, and what could boastfully bedescribed as 'the most luxurious door handles known to man', with an unspecified ‘precious’ wood inlay, wrapped in leather and redesigned to be more ergonomic. They're clearly too precious to be photographed, so you'll just have to imagine them as well.
MEC’s finishing touch is the addition of three piece 20 inch alloy wheels in varying designs, that require 10mm and 19mm spacers front and rear to help fill out the arches.
