When Roger Keeney entered a Ford competition to win a drive in the new 2010 Mustang he must have done so with a wry smile on his face.
Keeney, a long time ‘Stang admirer, has actually been blind since 1990, but after submitting his 250 word entry detailing how he would like to ‘unleash his Mustang side’, was surprised when a couple of weeks later he got a call inviting him to Ford’s Pheonix test track.
Roger’s day out included some driving tuition from racing driving Tommy Kendall, a few laps around the skid pan and a series of acceleration and braking tests in the brand new Mustang.
It's not quite as heroic as the blind Belgian, Luc Costermans, who set a new Blind Speed Record last year by clocking 192mph in a borrowed Gallardo, but the pictures speak for themselves, and we're happy Roger got to shred the tyres in a brand new Mustang. It's certainly high on our list of things to do.
