Mazda’s MX-5 has only recently undergone a facelift, but there’s no denying that everyone’s favourite Japanese sports car’s new look could have been a bit bolder.
That’s why we thought we’d show you MonoCraft’s effort at revamping the little roadster.
The MonoCraft MH1 has been around for a while now, but few people outside of Japan will have seen this curvy interpretation of the previous generation MX-5. It gets a revised rear end with a new, more rounded bumper, integrated spoiler and new rear ‘Lotus-like’ lights.
The front gets an entirely new bumper to incorporate an attractive new grille, while the bonnet gets a small dome that is unfortunately purely for aesthetic purposes and not to allow room for a larger unit. MonoCraft has also fitted a full leather interior and provides a range of custom alloy wheels.
There's no word yet on whether the new MX-5 will get a similar MonoCraft makeover, but for now prices start at 3,000,000 Yen (£20,000) for this slightly more dramatic looking MX-5.
