Mitsubishi has announced an upgrade to its twin-clutch Sports Shift Transmission (SST) Evo X line-up with a power-boosting performance package for the FQ-300.
Twin-clutch Evo now with 329bhp
The model becomes the FQ-330 SST thanks to a range of changes that boosts output by 34bhp to 329bhp at 6500rpm. Max torque is also up from 300lb ft to 322 lb ft at 3500rpm, and aside from the ECU re-map the revisions include a high-performance exhaust and downpipe, intercooler piping kit, racing suction pipe and upgraded cat.
Top speed is unchanged at 155mph, but Mitsubishi claims acceleration to 60mph now takes 4.4secs instead of the FQ-300's 4.7secs.
The six-speed paddle-shift operated automated manual 'box has Normal, Sport and Super Sport modes optimised for different driving conditions, and the car will come with Mitsubishi's full three-year unlimited mileage warranty.
The price has risen in line with the increased performance, with the FQ-330 SST retailing at £35,999 - up £3k from the FQ-300 SST.
Good news for existing FQ-300 owners is that the power upgrade package will also be made available as an accessory option.
