Bentley’s new 621bhp Continental Supersports has been caught testing around the Nurburgring and its fair to say it certainly looks like Crewe’s fastest ever model.
Not only is the Supersports more powerful than the regular car, it is also significantly lighter, weighing 110kg less than the 2350kg GT. That weight reduction which improves the 0-60mph time by 0.9sec (down to 3.7 seconds) is largely due to the lack of rear seating and lighter trim material.
The Supersport is also the first Bentley that is capable of running on an E85 ethanol/petrol mix, and has a special fuel sensor to map the standard car’s W12 6.0-litre engine’s performance between normal petrol and the biofuel mix. Bentley also claim that the emissions have been significantly improved with a reduction of up to 70 per cent when burning E85.
The 205mph Supersports will go on sale later this year at around £150,000. In the meantime check out the video below to see this two tonne leviathan being hustled around The 'Ring.
