To help drum up interest in the new S60 Concept, Volvo has launched a computer game featuring the car and five of the Swedish brand's racing heroes.
Gamers are able to pilot the new S60 Concept, the current Swedish Touring Car Championship Volvo C30, and a former BTCC S40 around two virtual renderings of real life tracks. Perhaps of more interest to PHers, however, is the chance to hoon a Volvo 850 estate (classic PistonHeads Shed Of The Week material) or an 80’s 240 Turbo Group A car.
The two tracks include the Gothenburg Eco Drive Arena in Sweden and the Ukrainian circuit of Chayka, which according to Volvo is making its virtual racing on-screen debut.
The game’s developers claim that Volvo The Game is extremely accurate, right down to the height of the kerbs, and has taken over 1000 hours just to create each of the tracks.
So if you fancy a couple of high speed laps in a classic racing Volvo SOTW, a fancy Group A racer or something a little bit more modern then download the game via Volvo’s website. We already know exactly what we’ll be doing during our lunch break.
