For most people the joy of owning a car like the Mercedes C63 AMG Estate will be its understated looks and outrageous performance, but German tuner Vath has decided to turn the Merc Q car into a fully blown head turner.
Power in the Vath V63RS Mercedes C63 AMG Estate has been increased to 585bhp with an enormous 509 lb ft of torque thanks to an optimised exhaust system and a reprogrammed ECU.
Vath has also added adjustable dampers, presumably to maintain the car’s agile ride when carting your household junk to the tip, and fitted new shocks. The brakes have been upgraded with six-piston callipers and 390mm drilled discs, and a new differential has been added.
But the most obvious changes are to the body, on which Vath has spent considerable time and energy creating a new carbon fibre front lip returning 12kg of downforce, large carbon diffuser and carbon side vents. The whole Vath package is rounded off with 20-inch split rims and new Michelin tyres.
The family friendly element of the Merc Estate has been maintained with a TV/DVD unit, although the optional roll-cage might interfere when it comes to fitting the dog guard.
