For that essential Le Mans chic...
Back in 1999 Jaguar tuning specialist Arden revealed this modified XK at the Frankfurt motor show. Production of the Arden AJ18 was limited to 13 examples.
Now, while Jaguar is determinedly looking to the future with the new XJ, Arden is taking a rather bizarre step back in time and is making five additional examples of the AJ18.
The car itself is based on the previous-generation XK, and distinguishes itself with a huge rear wing, bespoke door mirrors, a carbon-composite wide-body kit, unique front and rear bumpers and wire-mesh grilles.
It rides on Bilstein suspension, while hidden beneath 20-inch Sportline alloys are 370mm discs with six-pot callipers.
Now, we know what you’re going to say and, yes, the latest XK is a much better drive (especially with the 5.0-litre 503bhp supercharged engine). But an Arden AJ18 certainly has exclusivity on its side, even if it may now be a little less exclusive than a decade ago.
