Rolls-Royce has released a video of its new 'compact' (ahem!) model, the Ghost. This is the first time we've seen the car moving around, and this slick video gives a pretty comprehensive view of the car in action - it actually feels a bit like a (slightly over-enthusiastic) road test.
As is well-known now, the Ghost shares its platform with the 2009 BMW 7-series, and Rolls is making a clear, authoritative statement by calling Beemer's flagship exec saloon its 'entry-level' model. At first it was thought that it would share the 7-series' 4.4-litre V8 engine, too, although Rolls-Royce has now confirmed that a more regal 6.6-litre turbocharged V12 will be on offer, with 563bhp and 575lb ft of torque - quite adequate for a good waft.
Actually, its rather more than that - 0-60 comes in a thoroughly un-stately 4.7 seconds, and top whack is electronically limited to 155mph. This Roller is not going to be embarrassed by a Bentley.
The 'baby' Roller will be built on a bespoke underground production line in Goodwood, and will be revealed in the metal at the Frankfurt show in just a few week's time.
