An ECU remap designed to put extra hair on the chest of your new Audi TT RS has been developed by Swiss tuners Sportec.
'Funny money', but you get the picture!
The Sportec Audi TT RS Stage One package costs £1200 all-in, for which the UK distributor promises significant performance improvements. Quoted power output is up from 335bhp at 5,400rpm to a healthy (hopefully!) 400bhp at 5,800rpm, while peak torque jumps from 328lb ft to 401lb ft - improvements that Sportec have graphically illustrated with the accompanying, er, graph...
Post conversion, Sportec reckons the 0-62mph time for the TT RS drops from 4.6 to 4.2secs, and says in-gear acceleration times are greatly improved. They also remove the factory's 155mph speed-limiter during the conversion.
Power boosted from 335bhp to 400bhp
We've not had a chance to sample the Sportec goods, but it sounds to us as though this could be a step in the right direction for the TT RS, which in standard guise seemed to lack a little of the hoped-for 'edge' when
we drove it abroad
in the UK
According to the UK distributor APS Brackley, Sportec is working on a full program of performance, dynamic and styling upgrades for the car - and there'll be a demonstrator available soon. If they let us have a go in it, we'll tell you if it works!
