Texan tuner John Hennessey has revealed more details about his company's utterly mental
262mph Venom GT supercar
- as well as the fact that he's aiming for a 0-200-0 time of 20 seconds.
These computational fluid dynamics (CFD) images show the airflow around the $600k (£366k) car, which combines a heavily modified Lotus Exige S chassis with the LS9 V8 from the Corvette ZR1, Caroll Shelby-style.
According to Hennessey, the CFD calculations show that the adjustable rear wing, which also acts as an airbrake, will enable the Venom GT to develop up to 1.5 negative gs under deceleration.
The carbon-ceramic brakes should also play a significant part in some monumental stopping power, and Hennessey is aiming for a 200-0mph time of around seven seconds.
The Venom GT should therefore be theoretically capable of getting from rest to 200mph and back again in 20 seconds dead. Rather optimistic? As John Hennessey himself says, "Maybe. We will see sometime in 2010."
