concept, which BMW unveiled earlier this week, is still a pretty exciting machine.
The 1.5-litre three-pot motor already develops 163bhp and 214lb ft but, combined with the twin electric motors, it can make 356bhp and 590lb ft. As a result, BMW claims 0-62mph in 4.8 sec and an electronically limited top speed of 155mph. Not bad for a diesel hybrid.
It also looks like something out of a sci-fi blockbuster. You almost expect Arnie or Tom Cruise to step out of the driver's door at any moment. If this 'Layed Surfacing' is the future of BMW design, we're certainly not complaining.
