Citroen's all-new Mini rival caught on way to Frankfurt motor show

DS3s spotted on the way to Frankfurt

It's Frankfurt show time this week, and PH will be bringing you extensive coverage live from the show floor tomorrow (Tuesday). One of the major new cars on display will be the production version of the new Citroen DS3, Citroen's Mini rival.

So you can imagine our surprise when, stopping for a coffee and a 'comfort break' on the Autoroute near Metz, what should the PH team pull up alongside in the car park but three new Citroen DS3s, totally undisguised.

So out came the PH camera to take these - the first pics of the new DS3 on the road (well, in the car park).

Still not sure about that 'floating' roof

We have to say that we were pretty impressed by Citroen's new Mini rival. Some of the details look a little fussy, especially the 'floating roof' and the intricate roof patterns, but overall we reckon the new car has that same chunky, stylish presence that make the Mini and Fiat 500 such hits.

The Vertical LED running lights even look pretty cool, and the interior seems pretty high quality, from what we can gather.
