It's proving hard to know where to look at Frankfurt. But for those managing to rip their eyes away from the rest of the bevvy of beautiful machines, there's a new Maserati soft-top, and itlooks rather tasty.
The GranCabrio is essentially a convertible version of the GranTurismo (hence the 'inspired' name choice), and Pininfarina's shape has translated well into an elegant open-top grand tourer.
Maserati boasts of good interior space, and the back seats are (just about) humane - not surprising given that the GranCabrio has the longest wheelbase of any convertible currently on the market.
The svelte lines hide the 4.7-litre V8 out of the GranTurismo S, with all 434 braked-horses still intact, but we can expect a small weight increase with the inevitable stiffening needed to create that very open, 'floating windscreen' shape.
Maserati is planning a long launch with this car, so whilst marketing will begin in the winter, don't expect to see any Grancabrios on the road until spring 2010.
