This lurid 'go-faster' version of Toyota's clever iQ caught our eye at Frankfurt, although sadly the sporty elements are so far limited to dress-up parts.
The iQ for Sports concept features a purpose-made body kit emphasising the iQ's broad stance, powerful geometry and clean sweeping lines, says Toyota. Custom 18" alloy wheels, aero headlamps, high-intensity LED driving lights, a roof spoiler and a central, trapezoid exhaust further reinforce the iQ's potential for distinctive, stylish personalisation - if sadly not the potential for going faster!
The concept's interior is said to fuse function, style and entertainment. It's got illuminated door handles, a swivelling over-dash spotlight, an illuminated iQ logo, and nickel and raw aluminium interior trim panels.
Bright green and grey upholstery combined with matt black, scuba-style polyurethane seat bolsters and head-liner top-stitched in bright green create a fresh, contemporary environment, inside, while a 10" LCD touch screen serves as the main entertainment console and navigation system interface, incorporating DVD playback and music library facilities.
A good start then, but we'd like to see it next year with some TRD badges and a turbo...
