Nissan has announced that the 370Z Roadster will greet the UK public for the first time at the Goodwood Revival this weekend.
The launch of the car is still several months off, but a working example will be at Goodwood to start whetting appetites well in advance.
The new roadster will pack the same 3.7-litre V6 as the coupe version of the new Z car, with a choice of short-ratio six-speed manual or seven-speed auto gearboxes, and the option of Nissan's clever automatic heel-and-toe 'SynchroRev Match' system to make for smoother progress.
The neat hood was designed not to distort the roofline too much, and the engineers also tried to minimise wind noise with the roof up or down.
Obviously, an event as deeply historical as the Revival is not the first place you'd think of to introduce a brand new car, so to keep somewhat in with the historical theme of the Revival the 370Z Roadster will sit alongside an original 240Z, creating a sense of a Z car bloodline. Similarly, alongside a spanking new R35 GT-R will be an original KPGC10 Skyline GT-R.
The 370Z Roadster isn't expected until March 2010, but if it's anything like the coupe, we'll be hearing a lot more about this car ahead of the official launch date.
