A Ferrari Enzo FXX is all well and good - as far as track-toy supercars go there is little to touch it - but there are certain flaws with it.
You can't take it out on the road, for starters. Even if you could, Ferrari won't let you take it home with you; you can only go and play with it when - and where - they let you.
But there is now a solution, courtesy of mildly deranged German tuner Edo Competition. We recently wrote about Edo's previous upgrade package for the Enzo, the XX, which brought power up to 788bhp and torque to 575lb ft. This resulted in 0-60mph in 3.2secs, 0-186mph in 19.0secs and a top speed of 236mph.
Now, Edo has revealed this, the Enzo XX Evolution. Torque and acceleration figures are unchanged, but power is up to 828bhp (848bhp without exhaust mufflers), so top speed gets boosted to a claimed 242mph.
Edo is most proud of its improved transmission, however. A standard Enzo can shift gears in 110 milliseconds. In the XX Evolution it takes just 60 milliseconds - 20 milliseconds shy of an F1 car's gearshift.
Edo's conversion package is available to all Enzo customers and includes a day's testing with an instructor, a team of mechanics, full data-logging software, transport and hospitality. And the price? Well, if you have to ask etc etc...
