Nice, but why is it outside a Mitsubishi showroom?
Ferrari fans, regular PHers and, well, anyone who tends to dribble at the sight of heart-breakingly exotic metal may well remember
James Glickenhaus's unique Ferrari P4/5
The one-off Pininfarina-bodied stunner was originally a star of the 2006 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in California and now Glickenhaus is planning a successor - and this time it would be a pukka racing version.
The P4/5 Competizione would be an entirely new car rather than a conversion of the Pebble Beach car, and would be entered in a major 24-hour race next year, most likely the Nurburgring 24 hour event on May 13-16.
We'll take two, please...
Glickenhaus says that "there are a LOT of stars that would have to align for this to happen, but it's not impossible".
At the moment the car is little more than a dream and a couple of Photoshop images, but more detailed information on the P4/5 Competizione's specifications should appear over the next few weeks, so watch this space.
If the car goes ahead, it will revive memories of the car's spiritual ancestors of the late 1960s, particularly the gorgeous 1966 330 P3 and the 1967 P4 sports cars.
Family resemblance: A Ferrari 330 P3. Dribble
Even if the race version doesn't happen, we're eternally grateful to Mr Glickenhaus for reminding us about his wonderful creation, and for providing us with the perfect opportunity for a quick ogle-fest of the original car (below).
