A group of nationwide TVR specialists has formed a new resource for TVR owners called the TVR Network to help pool their expertise.
Even in the glory days of TVRs, the Blackpool sports car company enjoyed - at best - a rather patchy reputation for the quality of its dealer network and after-sales service. Now, with the demise of the company and any sort of 'official' dealer network, and with some parts for older TVRs becoming scarce, it's getting ever-harder to get many TVRs serviced and repaired reliably.
Which is where the TVR Network steps in. This has been set up as a resource for TVR drivers with the intention of becoming their one point of contact for servicing, parts, car sales and purchases, and technical backup.
As TVR Network's Howard Bryan points out, "any garage with a computer and a half-decent inkjet printer can call themselves TVR specialists these days, so it can be difficult to find someone with experience, product knowledge and good old fashioned customer service.
"Members of the TVR Network are time-served craftsmen with a proven track record with TVR and Network members abide by a strict code of conduct and strive to deliver the very best in customer satisfaction."
The recently opened TVR Network website (www.tvr-network.co.uk) also offers the sort of facilities normally associated with 'live' car manufacturers, including a specialist warranty scheme, an online parts finder and a car finder facility.
