Riggers with Caterham boss Ansar Ali (right)
All the team here at PH towers (currently in 'roaming' mode as we've decamped to the PistonHeads show) are excited at the latest addition to the PistonHeads car fleet. But nobody is half as excited as our man Riggers, who's finally got his hands on the racing car we've ordered him to drive to overall victory in the 2010 PistonHeads Caterham Academy series.
That's right, while the rest of the Caterham Academy field may battle for the runner-up spots, Riggers has been briefed by the rest of the PH team to take overall victory - or face the direst of consequences. We haven't decided what those consequences should be yet, but it should be amusing watching Riggers sweat under all the pressure we intend to pile on top of him as the season progresses. What are mates for, after all...
On a more serious note, we were delighted to welcome Caterham boss Ansar Ali to the PistonHeads show yesterday for the official handover of our very own Academy racer. It's great to be offered a chance to partner the Academy series this year, and Garlick and the Caterham team are already looking at some ideas for ways to maximise the fun for PHers as the series gets under way - and we don't only mean taking the Michael out of our own racing 'ace' Riggers.
On that note, Riggers also had his first opportunity to shine in public by missing (most) of the cones at the Caterham Drive Experience 'autotest' running as part of the Autosport show this weekend.
Oh well, things can only improve....
 Not Riggers...

...You can tell because he hasn't crashed...
