We're probably more prone to going weak at the knees for a Porsche than we are for most cars, but there's no denying that a new
Porsche GT3 RS
ought to be something extra special.
Fortunately, as Adam Towler, our man in the Porsche-shaped saddle, found out, the new GT3 RS more than delivers on its hardcore, 450hp promises.
The very fact that the GT3 RS exists also proves that the people at Weissach still care passionately about focussed, uncompromising driver's cars and that cars like the Cayenne and Panamera don't mean that Porsche is steering away from its sporting roots.
But if cars like the RS prove that cars can still be pure, uncompromising driving machines, then the gorgeous switchback roads of southern France, where Mr Towler was lucky enough to be honing about, prove that there's still somewhere fun to drive them.
In a world that seems to be ever more full of speed cameras, road works, potholes and congestions, the knowledge that there's still somewhere to indulge in a Troy Queef-style 'dab of oppo' is thoroughly comforting. Which is why we've brought you two POTWs this week...
