Hennessey Performance Engineering's nutty
1000hp Venom GT supercar
looks as though it could be making its world debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July.
It's not confirmed as yet, but as HPE's boss John Hennessey pointed out to us when we asked him about it, it does seem appropriate somehow.
"Given that the Venom starts life as a Lotus Exige and is being built in the UK," says John, "we feel that it would only be proper to make its first public appearance in the UK".
The road-legal prototype in this teaser pic certainly confirms that there's a UK-registered Venom GT pottering about...
So how is Hennessey's controversial Lotus-based supercar project getting on? "We are very serious about building a well-balanced road-legal super car that, while having brutal straight-line performance, still has the precise feel of a lightweight mid-engined car," says John. "There is still a lot of testing to be done but we are optimistic that the final product will perform as planned."
