This is the all-new Porsche Cayenne, which makes its debut at the Geneva motor show next week.
The second-generation Cayenne is lighter, more efficient, features a hybrid powertrain as an option for the first time, and (Porsche no doubt hopes) is a sleeker-looking piece of kit.
Although the new Cayenne is 48mm longer than its direct predecessor - and sits on a 40mm longer wheelbase - the car's weight has been slashed (by 180kgs in the case of the Cayenne S.
The five-tier model range starts with the 296bhp 3.6-litre V6. Next up is the Cayenne Diesel, whose 237bhp, 405lb ft V6 turbodiesel is now 20 per cent more efficient with combined fuel consumption up to 38.4mpg.
The two V8 models are also back, with the naturally aspirated 4.8-litre S getting 395bhp and the twin-turbo version getting 493bhp. Interestingly, the Turbo's fuel consumption actually betters the S's, with 27.6mpg playing 26.9mpg.
The biggest news for the new Cayenne is the introduction of the hybrid model. The Cayenne S Hybrid combines a 328bhp 3.0-litre supercharged V6 with a 46bhp electric motor. Both the electric and petrol motors can operate the vehicle independently (electric-only drive works at up to 40mph), but combine to give a maximum of 375bhp and428lb ft of torque.
The new Cayenne will hit UK showrooms on 29 May, priced from £41,404 for the basic V6 petrol and running up to £81,589 for the full-house Turbo.
