The new FIA-sanctioned GT1 World Championship kicks off in Yas Marina, Abu Dhabi on April 17th, then heads straight back to Blighty for round 2 at Silverstone on May 2nd.
We'll be keeping our eyes on the series as it unfolds because there's a pretty fair chance it could be 'the next big thing' for motorsport fans, particularly if manufacturer interest can be sustained and developed for a year or two.
Meanwhile, the 2010 season offers the prospect of some fabulous looking and great sounding cars battling for honours, and if the action is as close as this official teaser shot suggests it's going to be great fun to watch.
