In a rare bout of madness, Peugeot has brought a good looking car to the Geneva Show.
The SR1 is a (very good looking, actually) hybrid with 313hp. That’s thanks to a 236bhp, turbocharged, 1.6-litre petrol unit up front and a 93bhp electric motor in the back. So while it’s powerful, it’s also four wheel drive.
62mph appears in 4.7seconds and not long after the SR1 reaches 155mph (just like an M5), and all while only emitting 109g/km CO2.It’s got a four wheel steering set up, which varies how much the rear wheels turn depending on how fast the SR1 is going.
Peugeot is using the SR1 to show which way its design philosophy is going – and if future Pugs look like this we can all be happy.
For now it’s just a concept, but here’s hoping the next version of the RC-Z will have some vestage of the SR1 in it somewhere.
