This sketchy photo - apparently smuggled straight out of Maranello - is allegedly the first shot of the forthcoming Ferrari 599 GTO.
The chaps at motoring newscast FastLaneDaily - who broke the story - claim the pic is the real deal, although the jury is still out on that one.
FastLaneDaily's $400,000 (299k euro) punt on the GTO's price is certainly pretty close to the mark, though. Dutch website Autogespot has got hold of what seems to be a copy of the GTO's price list, complete with a comprehensive list of options, which sets the price of the GTO at 319,495 euros (£285k).
The price list also casts some light on the leaked spy shot itself - the list of options includes 'Colour from 50's and 60's range' (8432 euros), 'Historic GTO stripes' (7176 euros), and 'Racing stripes' (7176 euros). Seems that the blue stripes on white paint of the leaked image could well be on the money...
The new 599 GTO was originally expected to be launched at the Geneva show, but Ferrari chose to reveal a hybrid concept of the 599 instead.
When it does finally arrive, the 599 GTO is expected to weigh in at under 1650kg (40kg less than the standard 599GTB), while power should peak somewhere beyond 650bhp (the standard car gets 'just' 612bhp). Word on the grapevine is that the GTO will get a de-tuned version of the engine from the track-only 599 XX - and that has 720bhp...
