The cost of entry to the new manufacturer event on Thursday 1st July (immediately preceding the Festival 'proper') will be £20, which doesn't look bad value considering the raft of manufacturers who have pledged to show-up and show-off their latest metal.

We'll post the full list of attendees as soon as it has been officially sanctioned, but take it from us (courtesy of info we've had from the organisers) that it's pretty comprehensive and includes many of the performance brands that should get the PH seal of approval. Confirmed manufacturers so far include Porsche, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Abarth, Jaguar, Rolls-Royce, Morgan and BMW, and we'll have news on more (and the specific models they'll be bringing) soon. We're also promised a couple of big surprises to be announced in the next couple of weeks.
"On Thursday 1 July 2010 new cars buyers will be able to enjoy an exclusive motor show preview day, where they will not only be able to see the very latest new car models on display, but in many cases also climb aboard and experience the vehicles first-hand at each manufacturer's invitation," says the official blurb. "The cars will undertake hundreds of runs on a special evaluation route that includes the world famous Goodwood hillclimb, following in the wheel tracks of many celebrated racing drivers, including Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button and Sir Stirling Moss."
Test drive tickets will be allocated by manufacturers it seems, so you'll need to put on your best 'I want to buy your car' face and get down to your local dealer, but we reckon that the day will have plenty of good stuff to see and do to justify the entry price, even if you don't manage to bag a ride.

One of the more obvious highlights (ahem!) of this year's FoS will be the opportunity to meet members of the PH team (on all four show days) as we'll have our own stand at the event for the first time ever. If you don't want to talk to us don't worry, we can hardly blame you - but don't miss the opportunity to browse all the latest PH merchandise. Remember, your mates will never know you went unless you've got the T-shirt to prove it...
