Will XKR join Jaguar's list of winners?
The folk at Jaguar have just tipped us off about this new video from their US-based racing team Jaguar RSR, which shows how their XKR based GT2 racer goes together (in 30seconds).
The fab-looking XKR GT will take part in the Le Mans 24hrs this year as part of Jaguar's 75th Anniversary celebrations, driven by Paul Gentilozzi, Marc Goossens, Ryan Dalziel and Scott Pruett.
History buffs will know Jaguar is the single most successful British marque at the classic French event. In 1951, the C-type won Le Mans at its first attempt, with a further victory in 1953. The D-type took Le Mans wins in 1955, 1956 and 1957 while this racing success was followed in 1988 with the Jaguar XJR-9LM, a V12-powered Group C car. Another outright victory followed in 1990 with the Jaguar XJR-12.
Before making the trek to Le Mans, the latest XKR racer will also be competing at Laguna Seca for the third round of the American Le Mans series this weekend, so we've chucked in another video filmed 'in car' at the famous California circuit last year.
