BMW yesterday revealed its latest Art Car, the M3 GT2 racer, at the Pompidou Centre in Paris. The next stop for the number 79 car is Le Mans on 12-13 June, where it will be driven by Brit touring car legend Andy Priaulx, Dirk Müller and Dirk Werner.
Artist Jeff Koons' work involves hundreds of hard-edged lines of colour, with graphics representing debris on the back and sides of the car to symbolise its power, and two graphic rings on the rump to represent 'supersonic acceleration'.
The concept for the 17th BMW Art Car was turned into reality with a CAD 3D design translated into two dimensions for printing and then applied as a digital print on car wrapping vinyl.
