Dutch supercar maker Spyker is finally fully installed in the driving seat at Saab after completing the final $24m payment to purchase the Swedish maker from General Motors.
The money has changed hands 10 days earlier than originally planned, as Spyker has been able to get find extra capital in the wake of getting hold of Saab Great Britain, Saab's British subsidiary.
"The early payment of the second and last instalment underlines our desire to finalize the transaction with GM as soon as it was possible, enabling management to fully focus on the future of the group," said Spyker CEO Victor Muller in a statement to the press.
Spyker has paid $74 million for Saab - a tiny proportion of the cash GM has invested over the course of its two decades in charge of the brand. Some consolation for GM, however, is that Spyker-Saab is offering it $326 million in preferred stock options.
