XK180 concept - will new car look this good?
Tata Motors CEO, Carl-Peter Forster, has confirmed that Jaguar has been given the go-ahead to build its long-awaited Boxster-rivalling roadster.
Speaking to German trade paper Automobilwoche, the boss of Jaguar Land Rover's parent company revealed that the so-called 'F-Type' - a spiritual successor to the Jaguar E-Type - will form part of a new model offensive for JLR.
Joining the new sports car - which will sit below the XF in the company's product line-up - will be a replacement for the X-Type, an XF estate and a long-wheelbase XF for the Chinese market.
As for Land Rover, the new Range Rover Evoque has already been revealed, but it will soon be joined by a new Freelander. This will be smaller than the current car, making room for a larger seven-seat version to slot between it and the Discovery. Finally, by 2015 there will also be an all-new replacement for the iconic Defender.
