Fast German saloons are dropping like flies at the moment: a matter of mere days after the
E60 BMW M5 shuffled off this mortal production line
, Audi has revealed that the RS6 is also soon to face the final cut.
The 572bhp, 479lb ft twin-turbo V10 monster will end its production run this autumn, ahead of the expected unveil of an all-new A6 in spring 2011.
Although Audi has always followed the policy of having only one RS-badged car, a new RS6 is expected to follow on shortly after the debut of the new A6, and could run alongside the new RS5.
Audi is expected to drop the current car's V10 for the next RS6, replacing it with a biturbo V8 with 550-600hp.
