Want to meet the MP4-12C 'at home'..?
McLaren Automotive is one of the most talked about manufacturers around at the moment, and it's fair to say that most of us are eagerly awaiting the launch of the MP4-12C, which promises to be a British masterpiece.
Now, following months of begging, pleading and abject grovelling, our efforts here at PH Towers have been rewarded. McLaren has generously offered a unique, exclusive and totally awesome opportunity for a group of PHers to slip behind the doors of the Lord Foster-designed McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, and get the full low-down on what they're up to.
Get the inside line from Frank..?
That's right. Not only will our band of PH winners be getting a tour of the astonishingly hi-tech facility, they'll also have a chance to drool over some of the historic racing cars that have helped to forge the brand's remarkable history. Most importantly, our visit will be topped off by a private presentation of the new MP4-12C - by no less an individual than Mr Frank Stephenson himself, otherwise known as McLaren Automotive's Design Director.
It's all taking place on Friday 29th October, and not only will we get the chance to hear Frank Stephenson's take on the new car, but we'll also be able to chat with some of the other key people behind it from the McLaren Automotive engineering and development team.
And then check out some of these..?
We are allowed to invite 10 guests to join us for this exclusive behind-the-scenes tour, and for once the phrase 'money can't buy' has never been so apt.
You don't need us to tell you that opportunities like this don't come along very often and, when they do, it is usually only for the privileged few. So clear your diaries for October 29 - and get e-mailing!
To be in with a chance of visiting MTC as a guest of PistonHeads, all you need to do is e-mail competitions@pistonheads.com with your name, mobile number and details of your current car - and McLaren as the e-mail subject line.
So stop reading - and get e-mailing!
At 12.00 on Friday 22nd October, 10 entries will be selected at random from our virtual chef's hat (the only electronic hat we've got big enough to cope with the anticipated number of entries), and we'll let you know if you have been successful by lunchtime on the same day.
PH T&Cs. The event will begin on the morning of Friday October 29 at the McLaren Technical Centre, and our guests will be wholly responsible for getting themselves to and from the startline on time, and at their own cost. Guests must also agree to any directions/stipulations/house rules required by our hosts McLaren on the day (e.g. photography) with no whingeing. No substitute dates or opportunities will be offered, because otherwise it wouldn't be a 'once in a lifetime' experience, would it? Honestly, some people...
