One of the things we gently discourage (but by no means ban) at a PistonHeads Sunday Service is the clumping together of single models and marques. You see, much as the owners of a particular make will enjoy perusing the myriad variations of their motors, for non-owners it can get a bit monotonous - variety is the spice of life and all that.
We also pride ourselves on the variety of metal that turns up to PH events, and last weekend's trip to the MINI factory in Cowley, on the outskirts of Oxford, was as fine an example of the catholic (small 'c') tastes of the PH populace as you're likely to see.
After all, as this picture (right) demonstrates, where else can you see a Vauxhall VXR8 arrive at an event in the company of a Bristol, a Range Rover, a BMW 5-series (we think), a Noble and a Rover P5?
But the automotive extremes weren't to be found only at gate 7 of the Mini factory. A wander through the car park revealed everything from the opulent magnificence of a Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe borrowed by PH editor Chris-R (and already posted in the dreaded 'Bad Parking' thread) to an £800 5.0-litre Mustang cab, via all sorts of other loveliness, including a Murcielgao LP640 and some very brave souls in roofless Caterhams.
And these were just the highlights of the 800 or so cars that passed through the gates at what was almost certainly the biggest Sunday Service we've held yet - so a massive thanks to MINI and all the staff at Cowley who made everything (including the bacon rolls) happen.
You can have a look at the rest of the PHSS snaps (and add your own) on the official Sunday Service photo thread.
