Wilton House Supercars has always been an event not to miss, but now there's another reason to attend because PistonHeads, your favourite website (we hope), is the main sponsor.
Okay, so attaching our name might not be an attraction in itself, but there will be 160 of the UK's wildest (copyright Sheriff John Bunnell) supercars laid out on the rather splendid lawns of Wilton House in addition to a wealth of other activities.
Host Lord Pembroke and co-organiser Jay Broom have updated us with some of the key attractions you can expect to see on the day, so if you are still undecided as to whether to attend, let us persuade you a bit more.
In addition to the PH parking area, classic car displays and more than a few supercars, you can see manufacturer stands displaying new metal from brands such as Nissan, Audi, Jaguar, Morgan and Mercedes-Benz. Owners clubs will also be out in force, with showings from Aston Martin, Rolls-Royce and Bentley and we'll even have a Bugatti Type 25 displayed alongside Lord Pembroke's Veyron.
Car detailers KDS will be there to show us that cleaning a car consists of more than a leaky bucket, a tin of hardened Turtle Wax and a gritty chamois. They know their stuff, so much so that they will be demonstrating on cars such as a Zonda F Roadster, a Koenigsegg CCXR and a Mercedes SLS.
BARC will also display a range of historic sprint cars, whille BT Race Cars will show off a BT Le Mans car.
The full timetable for the day is as follows:
- 10.00 Gates Open, Display of classic cars by 96 Club, 70 Trade stands open, Arena for car displays open
- 11.00 - Live music starts
- 12.00 - Arrival of 160 supercars
- 14.30 - Supercar rev-off
- 16.00 - Prize giving for best car in show
- 17.00 - Event closes
We'll have our very own display of PH metal too in the form of the PistonHeads Parking Area. To get into this all you need to do is
purchase a ticket
to the event at a ridiculously cheap £10 and then add your name to the calendar
