High-performance SRT versions of the Dodge Charger and Challenger are to get superchargers and a thoroughly healthy 570hp power output towards the end of 2012, according to reports in the US.
Apparently, it seems that the newly formed SRT brand (it's a brand now, rather than just a badge, you see) is keen to keep up with the likes of the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and the Ford Mustang GT500. The result, says US car site Motor Authority, will be supercharged versions of both the Dodge Charger (pictured here in MY2012 SRT8 guise) with 540hp-570hp.
Word is that the Eaton twin-screw supercharger will also come alongside a news eight-speed auto (the ZF jobbie, we presume).
The supercharged SRT8s are expected to be available both fresh from the factory and as a dealer-fit option to older SRT8s. But will we see them over here in Blighty? We'll give you three guesses on that one...
