Is Lamborghini set to unveil a production version of the
Sesto Elemento concept
that so captivated showgoers (and the rest of the car-obsessed world) at the Paris motor show last September?
That is one of the rumours flying around the webnet after Lamborghini sent out an invitation to its Frankfurt show press conference, inviting hacks and other guests to “discover a new Lamborghini super sports car at the next Frankfurt Motor Show”.
Of course, ‘super sports car’ is how Lamborghini describes the Gallardo, so this might just be nothing more exciting than the first unveiling of its replacement – the Cabrera – which is due to appear in 2012. But that’s pretty exciting, anyway.
Yet there is also the intriguing possibility that Sant’Agata is going to use the Frankfurt show to take the wraps off a ‘productionised’ Sesto Elemento. Should that happen, the web whispers suggest that a run of between 10 and 20 units is likely for the 999kg, 562bhp supercar – with a price tag in excess of £1.6 million.
Either way, there should be something interesting on the Lamborghini stand at the IAA come September...
