Car on Snowdon: A PH reconstruction
Authorities are baffled by a mystery Vauxhall Frontera found stranded just 365 metres from the peak of Snowdon - the highest mountain in Wales.
Walkers over the weekend were bemused by the 4x4, which was discovered close to the railway line abandoned on the Llanberis side of the mountain.
In what sounds suspiciously like a pub-brewed plan gone rather wrong, the vehicle may have been driven up on Saturday morning and become stuck on the descent, although it is unclear as to precisely when the car was driven up.
Perversely, it's also clearly quite an impressive piece of driving (albeit a thoroughly dangerous one) - the authorities have said that neither the emergency services nor the national park officers would make an attempt on Snowdon.
