that Ferrari 456
we told you was going under the hammer today? It must have been a sign.
We think God wants you to buy it (yes you!), and use it as the donor car for one of these - a 'Ferrari' 340 Competizione.
A what? We hear you say. A 340 Competizione. It's a contemporary take on the incredibly rare Ferrari 340 Mexico, of which three examples were built by the Italian factory to take on the Carrera Panamericana in 1952.
The car is rendered here from the imaginations of the folk at
Gullwing America
, who are already responsible for building some very special recreations of the Mercedes Benz 300 SL with modern 'oily bits'.
They say only one 340 Competizione will be built, using a 456 GT for its mechanicals and chassis, topped off by a handmade aluminium body, and also featuring a cabin that's retro-themed but updated with items like carbon seats. But if you rock up with a 456 at 'Shed' money, perhaps they'll build another one?
