Porsche Experience Centre from above...
Monday morning and all is quiet in the PH office; it's not that we have fallen out, it's just that we are all a little tired and emotional from the weekend. Friday night saw us heading north on the M40 to claim our patch of grass at the 1st-Tickets-organised Britcar campsite at Silverstone, ready for a weekend of record-breaking heat and 24-hour racing. Tents were pitched in the dark (well, I borrowed a rather nice VW California to sleep in and arrived in daylight, but I speak for the rest of the team) and the weekend began.
Camping with hundreds of like-minded fellows means good banter, and Friday night saw a group of PHers assembled around the VW enjoying a few beers with us. If you have never attended a PH camping meet, then add it to the list of things you must do, we always have a great atmosphere and Brian and the 1st-Tickets team do an excellent job of working hard to ensure we have a relaxed time. Thanks to all of you who came along; we hope you had a great time.

Sunday morning saw a 05.30 alarm call as we awakened with the Sunday Service on our minds. As we headed over to the Porsche Experience Centre, the Britcar racers were into their 13th hour of racing and, while we were tired, it must have been nothing compared with how the the teams and drivers felt.
The sun came up and the temperature rose accordingly. Shortly afterwards the sight of 600 fantastic cars arriving at the centre was a sight to behold as we rushed to get everyone in swiftly. What a selection of cars it was too: we had an amazing array of supercars and rarities on display around the Porsche test track, and a good few bikes.
The Porsche staff Panamera drivers were showing PH passengers that hybrids don't have to be dull with their tail-out antics, and a few lucky people got the chance to ride in 911 GT3 and GT2 RS, too. Cars, sunshine, PHers, burgers, ice cream and a backdrop of 24-hour racing. What more do you need to make the perfect weekend? Thanks to all of you for making it such a success, one of the best Sunday Services of 2011 in our opinion.
If you want to relive the day, the Porsche guys are putting together a rather excellent video for us, which we will post as soon as it's 'cooked'. So watch this space. If this doesn't make you want to attend a PHSS, nothing will.
Thanks go to: Brian and the 1st-Tickets team for laying on a superb camping area, Volkswagen UK for the loan of the camper and its comfortable bed, Vertical View photography and everyone at Porsche UK for another fantastic Sunday Service.
